Singer Gabby Barrett has released her beautiful version of the traditional Christmas carol, “Silent Night,” available on Apple Music.
For her contribution to Carols Covered—Apple Music’s exclusive collection of Christmas standards updated by contemporary artists—country singer Gabby Barrett chose “Silent Night,” a song that once illustrated the real connective power of music for a younger version of herself. “When I was performing at a very young age and singing anywhere that I could, at any Christmas tree lightings in the area—around Pittsburgh, where I’m originally from—I remember always singing ‘Silent Night’ and people always sang along,” she says. “So it always just takes me back to that memory of where I came from and where I started.”
